All-Round Effort Sees Win Against Albion

The Union Senior team moved closer to the Dick Hunt Holiday Competition final in a fortnight with a 71 run victory at King George Park.

Winning the toss and electing to field they made 149/8 in their 20 overs, with good contributions from Thomas Shields (26), Jessie Valpy (17) and Garry Singh (26). The top scorer of the innings was Brad Fleming who provided some lusty blows in the final few overs including 20 runs in the final over of the innings. For Albion Ricky Whyte was the best of the bowlers with 4-33 of his 4, while Matt Finn took 2-31 of his four.

Albion got of to the worst possible start losing Matt Finn in the first over and never really recovered. Sam Keno was the only player to make double figures, with a well batted 23 as Albion struggled to gain any momentem in the innings. For Union Blake Martin took 2-14 while spin bowler Kuijeet Singh took 3-7 of his two overs.
