Edwards smashes ton as Seniors crush Oamaru/SKC

The Union senior team, thanks to an unbeaten century from Dylan Edwards, beat Oamaru/SKC by 9 wickets in 11 overs in the final 20/20 round robin match in the Dick Hunt Rosebowl Competition.
Batting first Oamaru/SKC made 159 in its 20 overs with R Singh (56), Jordan Bartlett (30) and Regan George (29) being the main run scorers. For Union Mason James was the main wicket taker with three wickets for 17 runs while Dan Conlan was extremely economical conceeding only 7 runs of his 4 overs.
Union got of to a great start with openers Jake Greenslade (31) and Edwards combining for 86 in only 6 overs before the loss of Greenslade, bowled by Justin Fowler. Edwards was in fine form playing some outstanding shots as he dominated the Oamaru bowlers. With the possibility of Edwards eaching his ton, his partner Glynn Cameron started to play a defensive innings, giving Edwards the runs he needed. When he reached his maiden ton he had reached the boundary 19 times including 6 sixes. Union reaching the required total only 1 wicket down.
