Club President Mike Ormandy and Gary Creedy will be unavailable for the next few weeks to play for Union, however they have a good excuse as the following excepts from an article in Oamaru Mail today describe.

The following excepts are from the article titled 'Oamaru golfers selected for Otago' written by Brayden Lindsay that appeared in the Oamaru Mail n the 1st October 2014

Two Oamaru golfers have been selected to play at representative level.

Michael Ormandy and Gary Creedy have been named in the Otago interprovincial golf squads for this weekend's Triangular tournament in Cromwell, featuring Aorangi and Southland.

Ormandy who has been selected in the Otago senior team for the first time, said he was really looking forward to it.

"It will be good, I'm really happy I was selected and feel my golf has been strong lately."

He was last selected for an Otago golf team back when he was 17.

"I'm hoping for a couple of good showings so I can show them my potential."

Meanwhile, Creedy has been named captain of the masters team to contest the national interprovincial in Waitangi in early November.

"It's a bit of a shock really, I did not expect to be named captain of the team, which is awesome."

"It'll be great fun. I'm really looking forward to the challenge," he said.
