The Union Senior team had a dominant 9 wicket win over Valley at Weston in the weekend after rolling the home side for 99.
Valley won the toss and lost wickets consistently throughout their innings as they batted 33.4 overs for their 99 runs. Only three players made double figures (Jack Price 19, Shannon Dunnet 23 and Rebuen Simpson 19) as they struggled to build a defendable score. Gary Singh took 4-15, while Blake James (3-19) and youngster Jack Cameron (2-11) were the best of the Union bowlers. Kane McLachlan had a day to remember behind the stumps taking four catches.
The Shields twins made light work of the required target, crusing to 99 before Jermiah was caught for 42 of 47 balls. Duncan Drew then hit the winning runs, with Thomas Shields was not out for 50 of 43 balls.
