Union Cricket Club
A true character both on and off the field, stories are still told fondly told at King George Park about his many exploits during his time in North Otago. Steven, or 'Rids' as he was nicknamed, first played for the club during the holiday competition during the 1994-95 season. A talented sportsman, he represented St Kevin's in both the school's first XI cricket team and the school's first XV rugby team. A talented all-rounder his greatest moment in Union colours was the Borton Cup final in 1999-2000, helping his side to a 87 run victory, scoring 36 and taking 3-45. After moving to Queenstown for further job opportunities he represented Otago Country at Hawke Cup level. |
