Union lost only its third game of the season when it lost to Valley at King George Park.
Batting first Union made a reasonable start but then lost opener Robert Coates (11) with the score on 27. But it all when bad from then on with Union losing all of its wickets for only 37 runs. Only Glynn Cameron (15), Coates, Duncan Drew (10) and Brendon Sidon (15) made scores in double figures. Union was all out for the small total of 64.
Union started its defence of its total well with both opening bowlers bowling a tight economical first few over's. But Union never got the break troughs that it required, and only Duncan Drew looked threatening taking 3-5. The other wicket takers were Brendon Sidon (1-33), and Paul Johnston (1-5).
