The Union Club Club30 team lost a close final in the weekend, losing to Oamaru by only 8 runs.

Batting first Oamaru were dismissed for 93 runs, helped by a 34 run 10th wicket partnership that proved critical in the low scoring match. Batting at 11 in the order Pratik Dabir top scored in the innings with 21 not out, combining with Mitchell Walker (17) for the 10th wicket. Bowling for Union opening bowler Hayden Armstrong took 3-30, Matt Lilley 2-16 while Ash Nockels took 4-22.

Union got of to ta good start with Stephen Wilson making 13 before being caught of the bowling Dabir. This started wickets constantly falling as Oamaru started making inroading into the Union batting order. Matt Lilley looked like he was playing a match winning innings, but with wickets falling at the other end the pressure was starting to tell. With the score on 57, he was dismissed for 37 but Union was creeping closer to the required 94 for victory. However with the score on 85, the final wicket fell Union 8 runs short in an exciting final.
