The above match was played at King George's Park, resulting in an easy win for the Union Club. Soldiers, batting first (two men short), made 19 runs and Union declared with nine wickets down for 73. In their second attempt Soldiers fared little better, being all out for 26. Union thus won by an innings and 28 runs. Union went on to bat and lost six wickets for 52 runs in their second innings.
