The second meeting of the season of Oamaru and Union took place on Saturday on King George's Park, where the matting wicket was slow and the outfield dead so that runs did not come easily. Oamaru batted first and made 95, of which Zimmerman contributed 48, using good judgement in picking the ball to hit and punishing the loose ones solidly. Union when play closed for the day had lost 7 wickets for 62, Graham making 22 by forceful batting, while Ongley was not out with useful 10, and Granger played a promising innings for 9.
