Seniors Suffer 60 Run Loss To Oamaru

In the first game back after the holiday competition Union went down to Oamaru in very warm sunshine.

After winning the toss Oamaru batted first and was dismissed for 228 in their 45 over's. Andrew McCulloch bowled well and took 3-26, and Paul Johnston took 3-31. Fourteen year old Shaun Todd making his debut in the Senior grade took 1-35.

Union kept on fighting in its runs chasing but was all out for 169 in the 40th over. The main highlight of the innings was stand in captain Paul Johnston reaching 1000 career runs during his innings of 21. Neville Donaldson was the top scorer of the innings with 34 while Thomas Shields scored 32 including a massive six out of the ground.

Union still remains on top of the points table, equal with Valley after the latters loss to Waitaki Boys.
