Union lost the Borton Cup final Semi-Final to Albion by 58 runs on the back field at Centennial Park.
Batting first Albion scored 199-9 of there allocated 45 over's. For Union Neil Rushton was back to his bowling best taking 5-39 of his ten over's and having the Albion batsman in all sorts of trouble throughout his time at the bowling crease. Neville Donaldson took 2-49 of his seven over's while Thomas Shields (1-8) was the other wicket taker.
Union started badly being 15-3 at one stage and never really recovered. Rushton, backing up his bowling performance, was the top scorer for the innings scoring an aggressive 43 with 4 sixes and 2 fours. He was well supported buy Neville Donaldson who finished with 23, but the main highlight of the innings was the hitting of the typically aggressive Christian Westergaard. He was 28 not out at the end of the innings with 3 fours and 2 sixes, with one of the sixes being a massive hit which landed half way up the hill to the west of the ground. However it proved to be too little too late as with the loss of the wicket of Shaun Todd for a duck, Union was all out for 141, a win to Albion by 58 runs.
