Union recorded a total of 250+ for the first time this season as they comprehensively beat St Kevin's by 144 runs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat Union lost the wicket of Glynn Cameron for a duck in only the second over with the total on 9. Duncan Drew and Jason Todd then brought Union back into the game and when Drew was dismissed for 48 Union was in complete control of the match. However a mini collapse saw the dismissal of Todd (66), Anthony Cromwell (5) and Union on 4-150. Mark Wilson and captain Paul Johnston then combined for a 49 run partnership to move Union to 199 before Johnston was dismissed for 13. Michael Ormandy was then run out for a duck as Union looked to hit out in the final over's. Wilson was starting to hit his stride and with Scott Cameron (10no) they put on a 50 run partnership for the 7th wicket. Wilson brought up 71 runs on the second ball of the last over becoming the second highest run scorer in Union Cricket Club history. He was dismissed a ball later missing a ball he was looking to hit over the top for leg before wicket. Ben Sinnamon then finished the innings with a six on the last ball of the innings, Union 263-7 in a good batting display.

Chasing the huge total St Kevin's never really looked capable of mounting a successful run chase, losing wickets constantly as the Union bowlers applied the pressure. Eventually St Kevin's were all out for 119 of 32.4 over's with only one batsman recording a score of 20 or more. For Union Glynn Cameron took his 97th and 98th career wickets finishing with 2-12, while Paul Johnston who went for 11 of his first over took 2-18 of three. Phillip Crossan continued to return good figures with 2-21. Fittingly it was left to Wilson to take the last wicket of the innings B Mulqueen bowled by Wilson for a duck.
