Oamaru was saved by the rain after a fired up Union side ripped through their batting at the back field of Centennial Park.

Batting first Oamaru struggled through their innings being 113-9 after 42 over's when a heavy down pour stopped their innings. For Union Phil Crossan was the star taking 2-8 of his 9 over's while Chris Ware took 2-36 of his 9.

After a lengthy delay and at one point looking like their would be no further play, Union were set a revised target of 57 of 21 over's. Looking well placed at 2-17 of 4 rain again intervened and play was abandoned handing the Dick Hunt trophy to Oamaru as top qualifier.
