The School and Union teams played their third match of the season on King George's Park yesterday, when the School put up so good a performance as to have their opponents doing their best throughout, ultimately to win by a wicket. The boys, batting first, made 119, Allan playing a good sound innings for 45 before hitting his wicket, and Inglis (27), Sumpter (17), Searle (13) and Darragh (14) all causing the bowlers some little trouble. Union did not fare well at the outset, for though Graham (28), J Stott (27) and Sutherland (30) all got runs, the other batsmen shaped poorly, and it was left to Ongley, who got 60, to pull the game out of the fire, Maude holding up the last wicket while 30 runs were made.
