The Union Senior team fell short by 23 runs in their clash at the St Kevin's Artificial in the weekend.
After losing the toss and being put into bat, Valley scored 215 all out in the 50th over. Byron Nearle was the top scorer for the innings with 30, while openers L Wettenhall (20) and Cameron Leckie (29) made good contributions. For Union Daniel Conlan took 3-29, Ben Cant 2-32 and Glynn Cameron 3-41.
Union looked to retain wickets through its innings in an attempt to hit out in the final over's, however after struggling to score runs in the middle over's the run-rate started to soar and they fell 13 runs short in the final over. Sean Conlan top scored with 38, while Ben Cant made 33. For Valley Hamish McKenzie took 3-42, H Loe 2-30, and Will Bole 3-45 returned the best bowling figures.
