Chris Ware lead the Union senior side to a 10 wicket win against a 9 man Oamaru side at King George Park

After a gentleman's agreement saw Oamaru bat first with 9 players, Ware ravaged the Oamaru top order taking the first four wickets with some great fast bowling. Ware who bowled his 10 overs in one spell finished with 4 wickets for 18 runs and was unlucky not pick up a five wicket bag. Fellow opening bowler Glynn Cameron also was on form taking 2-19 of 9.3 overs while Isaac Shields took 2-11 of his three overs.

Unions after a solid start from Union openers Jason Todd and Jeremiah Shields, Shields took the attack to all Oamaru bowlers with 6 fours and 2 sixes in an aggressive 64. In a rare occurrence David Sewell, usually at the most going for three an over, went for 39 of his 7 overs. Todd was 20 not out when the required total was reached.
