The Union Senior team suffered its second consecutive loss in as many weeks as they went down to Valley at KGP.

After losing the toss and being forced to bat on difficult batting wicket, they quickly collapsed to 14-3 in 5 overs. It was only Neil Rushton (54) and a late big hitting innings from Matt Lilley (27) that saw them pass 100, with the team once again guilty of not batting out their overs - all out for 122 in the 35th over. For Valley Cameron Grubb made the most of the wicket taking 2-9 of his 6 overs while Geoff Mavor took 5-27.

Like Union, Valley struggled at times in their innings although the sun started to dry out the wicket and made batting easier. They limped along to 39 of the first 20 overs, thanks to some tight bowling from Dan Conlan (2-17) and Matt Lilley (2-22). The home team looked like they might be right in the game but it was left to Andrew Harding (38*) and Geoff Mavor (31*) to see their side through with a 7th wicket partnership that was easily the biggest of the game. Captain Brad Fleming, like his openers, took two wickets, finishing with 2-24 of his 10 overs. Isaac Shields was unlucky to finish with no wickets with his first four balls of the match offering chances but none were taken.
