The Union senior have qualified for the Borton Cup final with a 36 run victory over top qualifier Valley at Weston.

The following is Terry O'Neil's report on the match:

Valley which went into the semifinals as top qualifier did not have the firepower to chase down fourth qualifier Union at Weston Park. Union batting first made 226 before the final wicket fell in the 46th over. An unbeaten 81 from Brad Fleming enabled Union to produce a respectable total after Union was tottering at 150 for seven after 31 overs with Dan Conlan producing a solid 43. Tom Squire took three for 36 and Nick Kelland, two for 46. Valley struggled through to 77 for four after 20 overs with Hayden Tisdal and Kent Rowland holding the side together. Three further wickets fell in the next nineteen overs to see Valley needing a further 75 runs for victory. Tisdal added only two further runs to be dismissed for 62 while Rowland was finally out for 37 and the side tumbled to be all out for 190 with four overs remaining. Paul Johnston took four for 37 and Mike Ormandy, three for 35.

The hoped for three teams, three finals wasn't to be as the Senior Reserves and Second Graders lost to WBHS 2nd XI and Valley respectively.
