Matt Lilley celebrated his return to the Union senior team from injury taking 4 wickets in 4 balls to book his team a place in the Dick Hunt final in fortnight.

Lilley ripped through the Valley lower order to finish with 7-19 of 7 overs with Union winning by a massive 149 runs. Earlier Union had batted first and notched up 245 all out in the 47th over with a solid contribution from Brad Fleming who scored a personal best of 81. Others to help their side along were Dylan Edwards (39) and lower order batsman Michael Ormandy who made 24 not out. Manoj Thomas (9) combined with Fleming as the pair put on 74 for the seventh wicket. Bowling for Valley Nick Kelland took 3-25, Hayden Tisdall 3-25, Fisher 2-33 and Hamish McKenzie 2-21.

Valley struggled in its chase as Dan Conlan took both openers and then Lilley started to make massive inroads into the Valley batting. Only Andrew Harding made a decent score, one of the last batsmen to fall as his side were bundled out for 96. Conlan took 2-17 of his 6 overs, while Lilley took 7-19, and his first senior hatrick for the club.

Union now waits on results this coming week to see who they will play in the Dick Hunt final.
