Duncan Drew

Games in both senior and senior reserve were started in the weekend but abandoned after heavy rain set in mid afternoon.

Oamaru won the toss in the seniors fixture and got of to a slow start. The first four overs were maidens and only 26 runs were scored of the first 15 overs as they found Glynn Cameron and Paul Johnston were difficult to score runs off. A 60 run partnership between Bartlett and Mahuika was the highlight of the innings as they were bookended by wickets constantly falling. Duncan ripped through the middle and lower order finishing with 5-27 of his ten overs. Mahuika was easily the highest scorer for the innings with 73 before his wicket was taken by Drew in a brilliant caught and bowled.

Union got of to a bad start losing the wicket of Cromwell early but Jeremiah Shields and Duncan Drew then steadied the innings before Shields was caught of the bowling of Murphy for 10. The total was 42 before the rain set in and the game was called off after the completion of the 11th over, teams sharing 5 points each.

In the Senior Reserve game between Union and Valley, Union batted first and notched up 204. John Anderson was the equal top scorer along with an incredible 64 wide's. The game was quickly abandoned after the Union innings.

Second Grade was cancelled after heavy rain overnight led to not enough grounds being available.
