The Union Senior team suffered its biggest loss in a number of games in the weekend when it lost to Albion by 120 runs.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first Union made some early breakthroughs to leave Albion 20-3 at one point. However this brought veterans Peter Cartwright and Brad Kernahan together as they put on 96 for the fourth wicket. The tail wagged as Ben Kingan (33) helped his side through to 198 all out in the 49th over. For Union Phil Crossan was extremely economical taking 2-12, Glynn Cameron took 2-28, while Matt Lilly took 4-29 to back his five wicket spell from last week.

The Union batting line-up never looked like reaching the required 199 for victory as wickets fell constantly throughout the innings. Only two batsmen reached double figures (Craig Robertson 10, Matt Lilly 14) as they were bundled out for 78 in the 21st over. Only four bowlers were required from Albion with Brad Kernahan taking 2-21, Tom Hornweg 2-9, Tom Dwyer 3-24 and Jeremy Smith 3-18.

Seniors will welcome back their Sean Conlan, Jeremiah Shields and Duncan Drew this week, all back from rep duty, as they look to get back on a winning track.
