The Union Senior Reserve team was well beaten in the weekend going down to arch rival Valley by 7 wickets.

Batting first Union's total added up to just under 100 with 97 and it was only club president Neville Donaldson (41) who made a score of significant value. Former Union player Mike Todd was the main instigator of the Union collapse taking 6 wickets for only 5 runs including a hatrick against his old club.

Valley in its chase surpassed the required total only 3 wickets down with J White top scoring with 40 not out.

Both teams are so far in the points table that the match was little more than a curtain raiser to their clash in the Senior Reserve final in a couple of weeks, when Union will be looking to pull of another upset like last years final.
