Daniel Martin

Richie Napier became the first player to score a century for Union this season then took 4/14 in a brilliant all round performance on the number 2 ground at King George Park yesterday.

Batting first, Union notched up 255 for the loss of three wickets in only 29 overs. They got a perfect start with Gary Creedy and Napier putting on 105 for the first wicket. Daniel Martin also scored an aggressive 50 with his innings including 10 boundaries. Union declaring after 29 overs with the total on 255/3.

Oamaru never really looked like successfully chasing Union's total. Napier was the main destroyer with the ball taking 4/14 in a man of the match performance.
