The Union Club played a match at Palmerston on Saturday when the Oamaru team were winners by the small margin of 24 runs. For the winners H. Robertson made 34, Todd 16, and Gregory 10, while extra 20 alone reached double figures for the home side. H. Robertson with 6 wickets for 13 runs, and McNamee 2 for 9, secured the wickets, while for Palmerston O'Loughlin, Sanderson, and Aitchison divided the wickets. Palmerston played with several of their usual players absent.
