Two of the three Union afternoon teams started the season with victory. In Senior Reserve Rycole had a comprehensive victory against arch rivals and last years champions Albion, while Fawkes where defaulted to by the St Kevin's 2nds. Seniors fought out a high scoring and close encounter against Valley but ended up 30 runs short in what would have been a classic runs chase.
