Union faced Valley in the first round on the main oval after being drawn second.
Losing the toss and being forced to field Valley got of to a fast start looking like 200 could be on the cards. A good fight back from Dickinson and then Johnston pegged the total back and after 20 over's Valley had scored 161. The main scorer was Kelvin Mansfield who dominated early on and before he was stumped by Cromwell of the bowling of Johnston he had recorded 77 runs.
Union got of to a very slow start and never really recovered. After 20 over's Union had reached 100, with James Cutt top scoring with 25 not out, and last batsman in Daniel Conlon finished with 18 not out. A win to Valley by 61 runs.
In the third/fourth playoff Oamaru batted first and recorded a competitive 172 of their 20 over's. Once again Stuart Dickinson had an excellent bowling performance taking 3-34, while Glynn Cameron (2-27) and Mike Ormandy (2-20) both took 2 wickets each.
Once again Union struggled to get a good start and at the end of 20 over's was seven wickets down for 136 runs. Paul Johnston looks to be returning to good form with the bat top scoring for the innings with 29 not out, while Daniel Conlon was 22 not out at the end of the innings.
